Re-Make/Re-Model collaborated with Roskilde Festival to organise the pop-up event Roskilde Roadtrip Berlin. The event, which took place at RAW in Friedrichshain, was a two week long celebration of creativity and teamwork. The whole city was invited to come up with ideas for exciting projects to build and create during the two weeks between the 24th of March and the 5th of April.
There were workshops, art and music, film and theatre, performances and parties, inspirational work and a lot of fun! People who had an idea for a project to realize could get in touch with the organizers (Re-Make/Re-Model and Roskilde Road Trip), who would do their best to make sure the ideas could be realized. The response from the local art community was great and the event space was a hub of activity and inspiration for the two weeks. Re-Make/Re-Model also co-organised a workshop on temporary architecture with raumlabor berlin. The whole event was ended with a large exhibition and concert at Lido in Berlin.
Re-Make/Re-Model also prepared the spaces and transformed the interiors of RAW. One room was covered in gold, another room was covered in cardboard ready to be decorated. A pallet mountain covered in black board paint and grass face south and was a popular hang-out spot when the eather was good. Re-Make/Re-Model also provided a flexible structure that was used as exhibition surface, stage set, room dividers, pavilion and decoration throughout the festival. Each of the four elements that made up the house had a number of frames that could be filled with the artwork and ideas people wanted them to be filled with. The elements could easily be placed in different configurations to adapt to new situations and needs.
